The Power of Your Vote:

When you think your vote doesn’t matter, remember:

In 1776, ONE VOTE gave America the English Language instead of German.

In 1845, a ONE VOTE difference brought Texas into the Union. A SINGLE VOTE also admitted California, Oregon, and Washington to statehood.

John F. Kennedy’s margin of victory over Richard Nixon in 1960 was less than ONE VOTE per precinct.

In Ohio:

A juvenile court judge in Hamilton County lost by 21 votes. After a two year court battle over county provisional ballots, she was declared the victor by 70 votes. Those without identification made the difference.

The mayoral election in Urbancrest (Franklin County) was decided by a coin toss because of a tied election in 2007.
