This year's event will highlight the work of the The Fair Housing Center for Rights and Research and their tremendous efforts to protect and expand fair housing rights, eliminate housing discrimination and promote integrated communities. They will receive the Social Justice Advocates of the Year Award.
Furthermore, Simona Lynch Williams, founder of Sisters of Hope, will receive the Homeless Advocate of the Year Award. She has dedicated years of service to NEOCH and recently started an organization to assist unemployed homeless women with the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. We will present these well-deserved awards to an amazing organization and person.
Join us as we present the current state of homelessness in our community. We will look at the accomplishments of NEOCH in the past year. NEOCH has provided access to the polls for people experiencing homelessness and protected voting rights as the state of Ohio works to purge its citizens from the rolls. We have handed out thousands of dollars worth of humanitarian aid and during the polar vortex, we coordinated outreach efforts and advocated for 24 hour warming centers. We will present our annual report to the community and talk about our work in the coming years.
This event is a chance to get involved, learn about our advocacy, and build community with us.
